The main advertisement on the programme for Leicester Beer Festival this year was for some award winning beer by Everard's. Kind of makes sense that a festival celebrating "Real Ale" would want to be associated with beers that have won gold and silver medals right? Let's take a closer look at the small print at the foot of the advert to see what the categories for the prizes were, shall we? Gold medal for "International Keg Ale Competition" and two medals for their bottled beers. "Keg Ale", I guess it was a dislike for this stuff that was part of the founding of CAMRA. Also, the last I heard was that Everard's bottled beer was pasteurised, not "Real Ale In A Bottle." I suppose these details aren't that important when an organisation is looking for support from a brewery.
